Trust God to Direct Your Steps

Scripture

📖 “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” — Proverbs 16:9 ESV

Reflection

We make plans all the time. We think about where we want to go, what we want to accomplish, and how we expect things to work out.

And planning isn’t a bad thing. But this verse reminds us to hold our plans with open hands.

Sometimes God changes the direction. Sometimes a door closes that we were certain would open. Sometimes the path looks completely different from what we imagined.

That doesn’t mean God has lost control.

You can make wise plans while still trusting God to direct your steps. And when He leads you somewhere you didn’t expect, you can trust that He sees more of the road than you do.

Reflection Question

Has God ever redirected one of your plans and later helped you see His purpose in it?

Prayer

Father, thank You for directing my steps. Help me make wise plans without holding onto them so tightly that I miss where You are leading. Give me faith to trust You when the path changes, and help me follow You one step at a time. In Jesus’ name, amen. 🙏
